Brave New World shows the mad extent that the technological system might go to as it seeks to bring its most chaotic component into order—humanity. Through medical intervention, psychological conditioning, and mind-altering drugs, the highly-manufactured social cogs of this eerily familiar world are fit into a tightly-regulated society stratified by intelligence and ability. Just as we see the glaring issues of industrial society, the characters of this novel come to see the inhumanity of their existence as they wrestle against their system's attempts to pacify or exploit their wild instincts.
